A Look At Liposuction Prices

When considering liposuction (also known as lipoplasty), the first important thing that should be done is to find a board-certified Plastic Surgeon that you feel comfortable with and confident in. Well qualified surgeons with an excellent reputation may be in high demand, and may charge higher fees than less experienced doctors, but the extra cost is well worth it when it comes to surgical procedures. Also, depending on the part of the country in which you live, prices of liposuction can vary. And beware of plastic surgeons who advertise that financing is available. Many of these doctors add large financing fees without informing the patient. When you have found a good doctor, a consultation should be done to determine what work will be done, and a written estimate should be obtained.

Much like male enhancement, there are many factors that determine liposuction prices. These include the technique of liposuction that will be performed, the areas that will be treated, how long the procedure will take, and how much adipose tissue (body fat) will be removed. Also, there are many other fees that must be included such as those for the anesthesiologist, out-patient center, laboratory, and special postoperative dressings or compression garments. Also, antibiotics are usually prescribed for after the surgery.

Most plastic surgeons determine their price of liposuction and laser liposuction according to how much time the procedure will take, and how difficult the procedure will be. If many areas of the body are going to be treated at one time, the surgeon bases his prices on this. If the patient is extremely obese, the doctor will know that the treatment will take longer. And if the procedure appears difficult, the cost will be higher.

When obtaining a quote for the cost of liposuction, most plastic surgeons include all costs, including the anesthesiologist fees. This type of quote is called a global fee and is normally applied when the procedures are done in the doctor’s office or an out-patient center. When discussing costs with your surgeon, be sure to have it specified as to what the estimate includes, and ask for a written quote.

Below is a list of the approximate average prices of liposuction in the United States. These prices include all fees except anesthesiologist. The prices are listed with the lowest price for less work and time that the procedure will take, and highest cost for more work and time of the procedure.
